Duplex

A two-level home built around one tall room. The living space rises the full height of the house behind a wall of glass, so the trees outside become part of the interior.

A screen of brass loops and amber glass follows the floating stair up to the mezzanine and catches the low sun. Under the mezzanine the mood changes: wood panelling, an orange banquette, a planter of tall grasses, the kitchen and a coffee corner, lit low and warm in the evening.
